Physiotherapy is an applied health science focusing on the assessment and rehabilitation of Orthopaedic, Neurological and Cardiovascular systems. At WSM our detailed assessments of the muscular, skeletal, connective tissue and neurological systems allow us to develop a personalized treatment plan to assist in your return to optimized functional mobility and health.

At WSM, physiotherapy focuses not just on healing and pain reduction, but also on the sport specific demands your activity places on your body and what it will take to “get you back in the game”. Our physiotherapists also consult with local clubs and teams before the season to help prevent injuries and to ensure an optimal training program.

Our physiotherapists utilize manual therapy, joint and soft tissue mobilization and manipulation, myofacial release, and craniosacral techniques. Therapeutic exercises are prescribed to mobilize joints, release contracted muscles, tendons and fascia, improve muscle strength and joint stability, improve functional mobility and balance, and enhance performance. Other effective physiotherapy modalities include acupuncture, dry-needling, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), ultrasound and Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS), mechanical spinal traction, Shockwave Therapy, video analysis, return to play testing, injury prevention; pre-screening education tools and testing.
